Hello there, and thanks for visiting.
What I Write
I write copy for businesses and articles for publications.
My niches include health & wellness topics such as yoga, meditation, nutrition, and green living; family topics including parenting, natural birth and homemaking; education; and travel.
I was recently cajoled into watching home videos at my parents' house in Maryland. In one scene, at my ninth birthday party, I am devouring cake with my best childhood friends when my dad, behind the camcorder, asks each of us what we want to be when we grow up. My answer: a writer.
Twenty-something years and a colorful collection of life experiences later, I am embarking on the career predicted by my nine-year-old self.
Since graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Maryland with a degree in Spanish Literature, I've received my Teaching English as a Foreign Language certification in Spain, taught English in Africa, taught ESL in a community college and university setting, received my yoga teacher certification and taught 20+ yoga classes/week in every yoga style imaginable.
I was also somewhat of a rolling stone during my 20s, backpacking solo around Europe for six months, driving west and east and north and south exploring the great USA, and trekking through the Costa Rica rainforest.
Today, I am raising two spirited children and perfecting the art of domestic bliss in South Carolina. I moved here with my family from a tiny French village in Normandy, where I spent several years learning French (and, let's be honest, eating pastries). I was whisked away from my hometown in Maryland to France and now South Carolina (and before all that, Reno and Idaho) by my better half, who shares with me the amusement of raising our children and in his spare time is a nuclear engineer.
As I look back on my educational, professional, and personal experiences, the writing on the wall is there: I love words, language and communication. The circuitous route I've taken toward my writing career has made my life all the richer. And, to come full circle, this richness of experience now infuses my writing.
So drop me a line - I look forward to working with you!
